"The importance of an effective and professional property manager is often overlooked by property owners.
On the face of it the management of a block or estate appears a simple task but in order to do the job well today’s property manager needs a skill set that includes knowledge of buildings and the services within it; an intimate understanding of the complex legislation; financial literacy and good inter - personal skills.
It is a customer focussed industry and in order to succeed you need to give the customer what he wants which is a professional knowledgeable service - An IRPM qualification will go some way to giving your clients confidence that you have the requisite skills and knowledge."

Director Dorrington
"The IRPM provides an invaluable path for personal development within an extremely diverse industry. There is no pre-qualification entry criteria and the Open Learning Course supports the reality of what you learn on the job."
Mary-Anne Bowring
Governor
"I started my career in property in the early 1990's as a property manager of repossessed houses randomly put together in BES portfolios. The Assured and Assured Shorthold Tenancy had only recently been introduced and much of the work we were doing was pioneering. There was no qualification and much of what we did was learnt along the way. It has been the same for many others and the introduction of a formal qualification that will be recognised throughout the industry is overdue.
I am therefore really supportive that IRPM has been able to provide a platform for new entrants and also for those who have worked in property management for the last 20 years to become qualified.
Property management is not a Cinderella business. It is the fulcrum around which investments can wither or flourish. My hope is that this platform will encourage more people into property management as a career choice, and for some of those that are currently active in the sector to consider contributing their knowledge and skills, and to share best practices for the future of property management in an ever changing world."
Nick Jopling
Executive Director Grainger
"IRPM membership is for all levels of staff, including accounts, secretarial and property managers. The Part I exam is for all, and the Part II exam will be module-based to cover your area of expertise."

Through the IRPM qualification individuals can attain an excellent footing upon which they can develop their skills and knowledge to provide this service.
