Fellow (FIRPM) status is discretionary, awarded by the IRPM Board of Directors to Members with ten or more years' current, relevant experience in residential property management and who can specifically demonstrate that they have made a significant contribution to the development of the sector over and above that made to their own business or employer. The Board of Directors may also consider offering Fellowship to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the residential property management sector and whose membership will enhance the standing of the Institute.

Potential candidates will be required to complete a Fellows Application Form which can be downloaded here, please complete this form and send back to info@irpm.org.uk. Applicants may be invited to attend an interview to determine their standing in this regard.

The Directors do not wish to be prescriptive about how Members demonstrate their eligibility for upgrade to Fellow. You may, however, find the following examples helpful in assessing your eligibility to meet the criteria:

  • where in the opinion of the Directors, the member has made a significant contribution to the work of the IRPM or another relevant organisation. A number of our Fellows have served as Directors of the IRPM and/or Council Members of ARMA or PMAS.
  • in recognition of a significant contribution to residential property management within another relevant organisation. We have Fellows who have made a major contribution towards the standing of residential property management within the RICS and within the National Housing Federation.
  • upon production of written work or research on a subject relevant to residential property management (or any aspect thereof) of not less than 2500 words which has either been published, or is of such quality in the opinion of the Directors it would benefit the IRPM membership by its circulation or publication. There is a lack of balanced, well researched academic literature based upon residential property management. The IRPM is keen to support any Members undertaking such work and will consider awarding a Fellowship as a result of such articles being researched, authored and published.

The Board of Directors may also consider offering Fellowship to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the residential property management sector and whose membership will enhance the standing of the Institute.

To apply for fellow membership please email info@irpm.org.uk.

All new applicants will be required to pay an application fee of £91.00.

The use of post-nominal letters (AIRPM, MIRPM, FIRPM) is only eligible to current members of the Institute of Residential Property Management.
