Today Boris Johnson reshuffles his top team of government ministers. One of those being the housing secretary.

Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove has been confirmed as the new housing secretary, replacing Robert Jenrick.

As part of his new role, Mr Gove has also been handed responsibility for the government's "levelling up" agenda. He will retain responsibility for relations with the UK's devolved administrations.

As we receive further information regarding the appointment of Gove, we will ensure to communicate this out to our members. We await news on whether the services of Lord Greenhalgh and Chris Pincher MP will be retained. We expect this will be clarified in the next day or so.
