The course has been developed around IRPM’s ‘4 Elements’ of residential property management: Technical, Health and Safety, Customer and Consumer and Ethics and Behaviours. These 4 Elements are the foundations for any residential property management professional. Learners who successfully complete the course and pass the final exam will be entitled to use the MIRPM designation.

Candidates who are not already members of IRPM will need to join, to benefit their studies from IRPM’s essential bulletins, monthly updates that include technical info, IRPM LinkedIn Member Forum and Resource Hub and to agree to the IRPM Code of Conduct that sets professional standards for property professionals and employers. We recommend all new entrants take the Level 2 Foundation in Build to Rent before attempting our level 4 Build to Rent qualification. IRPM members who already have the Member level qualification in leasehold management will need to successfully complete this course to qualify as a Build to Rent property manager.
All candidates who pass this course will be eligible to receive free membership to the UKAA.
Learners can join the course at any time. Learning material consists of nine modules and learners are required to pass an online test at the end of each module. The course is completed with a final written assessment, lasting two and a half hours, that takes place every six months.
Course duration is flexible to fit the needs of individual learners. Once enrolled, learners will have access to all learning material for 24 months. However, they can choose to complete the course earlier. The recommended minimum learning time is 6 months (total qualification time is 173 hours).
After enrolment, you will be able to sit the exam every time new exam dates are released throughout the 30-months period (note that access to the course content is for 24 months). These exam dates will be visible on this page, you will need to login to book your preferred exam date.
If you DO NOT sit the within 30-months period, you will be required to pay an additional £120 to sit the exam.

IRPM members who already have the Member level qualification in leasehold management will need to successfully complete this course to qualify as a Build to Rent property manager. Everyone’s membership certificate will say whether they are qualified in ‘Leasehold’ or ‘Build to Rent’.
The course fee is £1,198, to be paid in full at the time of course enrolment. The course fee includes the final assessment fee. The final assessment can be re-taken, the fee for which is £120.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations due to illness must be accompanied by a medical certificate to allow the fee to be carried forward to the next available event/exam/workshop. All other cancellations less than ten working days prior to the event (including no-shows) forfeit the fee. Please note this policy is strictly adhered to as places once booked incur costs to the IRPM.
Candidates who book their place at the exam but do not attend without notification to the IRPM forfeit their opportunity to sit the exam. They will be required to book a resit place in order to take the exam. The resit fee is £120.
